Michelle Brenner in Gig Harbor is now being called The Lasagna Lady
Using all homemade ingredients, she spends hours every day now, baking lasagna in her kitchen, then freezes the lasagna and leaves them outside her home
She got the idea at the supermarket, seeing people buying and stock piling frozenlasagnas.
So Michelle Brenner posted on a Gig Harbor Facebook page that she's willing to bake lasagna for people. In the first two weeks she made 400 ! What that turned into was a community wanting to reach out and feed each other. People were paying it forward, picking up lasagna for other people so Michelle started up a fund beginning with the $1000 she got as a stimulus check.
People have left her donations, thank you cards, balloons, flowers and wine. And her lasagnas are getting dropped off all over, from police stations to fire departments to healthcare workers as far away as Edmonds.
Michelle’s goal is 1000 lasagnas, and her message is “No matter where we come from or what we have or what we don't have, we are all here together,” she says. “And one lasagna at a time, we are going to get through this and we are going to make that difference.”
