I am not grateful Black woman: Tiffany Haddish, Grammy's

Let me make a fresh cup of tea for this one đŸ”

Last week Tiffany Haddish gave an exclusive to Vanity Fair detailing the Grammy’s asking her to host the 3-hour pre-show for free. They also told Tiffany she would have to pay for her own hair and makeup:

“All of that would have to come out of my pocket,” she said, adding, “I don’t know if this might mean I might not get nominated ever again, but I think it’s disrespectful.”

And for those that are asking why she didn’t just do it for exposer, she said “I was like, ‘The exposure is amazing but I think I have enough. I appreciate you guys asking,’ Haddish said. “And as much as I appreciate the honor of being nominated, that’s not okay. This is something that needs to be addressed,” Haddish said. “How many other people have they done that to? It’s like a guy asking you on a date but telling you that you have to pay for it." Kelechi Okafor took to her IGTV with a video called “I’m not a grateful Black woman” in defense of Tiffany Haddish. In case you missed it, check it out below:

I could add more, but why? She said everything đŸ€·đŸŸâ€â™€ïž What I will add is a thank you to Tiffany Haddish. A thank you for standing up for your worth. A thank you for reminding Black women that exposer is not enough. And a thank you for speaking up in a time where so many people are worried about getting canceled. And a thank you for reminding people it’s not enough to just have Black women at the table. #PayTheFee!

Recording Academy interim chief Harvey Mason, jr personally reached out to Tiffany after getting word of what happened and apologized. He also spoke out via his Instagram.
