Seattle Area Restaurant Once Struggling During Pandemic, Now Giving Back

There is a Cajun spot in Puyallup called Bourbon Street Creole Kitchen and Grill I’ve been to a couple times.

They were hurting like most restaurants in this Coronavirus shutdown and a month ago they thought they were going to have to close.

The community rallied around them, families stopped by for orders, companies ordered huge carryout, people purchased gift cards.

Owner Mike de Alwis says, ""I think we are here because of the people today, if the people hadn’t come here, we wouldn’t be here."

Now he, and Bourbon Street, is paying it forward for families who can’t go out to eat, planning on cooking 100 meals and handing out 25 dinners a week.
