Prosecutors Won't Seek Death Penalty For Man Charged In Murder Of Pop Smoke

Corey Walkers was the only adult suspect involved in the murder of Pop Smoke almost a year and a half ago during a home invasion robbery on February 19, 2020. The Los Angeles District Attorney said they will NOT pursue the death penalty against now 20 year old Corey Walker.

Now remember, Cory Walker claims he was only the driver when the 3 other juveniles robbed and murdered Pop Smoke..never even got out of the car. Walker is, however, facing the maximum sentence of life without parole. The other 3 suspects who were 15, 16, and 17 at the time of the incident are being prosecuted in juvenile court.
