A reminder that this is the Pacific Northwest's inaugural Black Restaurant Week. This is a nationwide event but is hitting Seattle for the first time From Feb 19-Feb 28, 2021.
The goal of the campaign is to promote local Black-owned restaurants, especially during the economic impacts of COVID-19 that has forced over 90 restaurants in the city to close.
Since the start of the pandemic, 41% of Black-owned businesses have had to close, compared to just 17% of white businesses.
