After discovering the Pier was moving away from the waterfront, pier 58 between Miner's Landing and the Seattle Aquarium was closed to the public in late August. Crews began removing as much weight as possible from the pier as they dismantled the structure. Sunday afternoon, workers were on the rotting pier when it fell into the Puget Sound.
Two men were taken to Harbor View Medical Center. One has already been discharged.
