Alex Tsao is a 17 year old Seattle high school student who has been rock climbing for about 5 years and came up with an idea.
Since rock climbing ropes are only used for a few months before being thrown away, Alex created upcycled dog leashes.
So what Alex did to help avoid negatively impacting the environment, he saved the ropes from landfill and re purposed them – for about a year now, Alex has made handmade dog leashes recycled from used rock climbing ropes and donates the sales of the leashes to animal shelters.
But recently Alex saw a need elsewhere.
In the last month Alex's has been able to raise hundreds of dollars –donating all of the money to Hopelink- an organization that works to help low income families get back on their feet.
Alex Tsao’s company is called ROCKS 2 DOGS and it is a 501 c 3 nonprofit so to get an upcycled used climbing rope Handmade Dog Leashes, CLICK HERE!
