Seattle Area Pitbulls Rescued From Fighting Ring Up For Adoption Soon!

The 37 pit bulls that were rescued from a suspected Tacoma dog-fighting ring in December will soon be ready for adoption from The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County. The dogs range in age from a few months to 5 years old, and the Humane Society says all the dogs have been friendly, loving and outgoing.

Adoptions will begin after they're all spayed and neutered and undergo some normal medical care.

“Any prospective adopter will have to fill out an application and will have a comprehensive background check conducted on them by Pierce County Animal Control,” the Humane Society said.

“Mandatory home checks will be completed by Pierce County Animal Control or a partnering agency before and after the adoption.”

Anyone who is interested in adopting one of the dogs, is asked to visit the shelter or website atwww.thehumanesociety.orgto fill out an application or emailadoptions@thehumanesociety.org.

Officials in the prosecutor’s office previously said there is no timeline on if and when charges may be filed against a man suspected of animal cruelty in the case.
