It's World Mental health day today so I wanted to bring up the bake sale that’s happening this weekend.
It’s called the Depressed Cake Shop. It’s an annual bake sale where around 50 bakeries and confectioners donate desserts that are usually covered in grey frosting, but super colorful on the inside.
All proceeds from the bake sale benefit the National Alliance on Mental Health in Seattle to make sure the public can access NAMI’s resources for free. Every year lines are out the door.
The 2019 Depressed Cake Shop is this Saturday, October 12 from 11am - 2pm inside Optimism Brewing Company on Capitol Hill. The People’s Burger food truck will also be on-site, and kids and dogs are welcome.
