Local Man and His Dog Dash Are Two Cancer Fighting Heroes! #WhatsGood

Jenna WHAT's GOOD!?

Local Man Ande Edlund has been selected as one of five athletes from across the country to represent The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in the ultimate triathlon… the IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii. An Ironman Triathlon consists of a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22-mile (42.20 km) run, raced in that order. This opportunity will push his physical limits and fundraising abilities.

Here’s my favorite part… In 2019, at a Mariners baseball game (and completely by accident) Dash (his golden retriever) became an internet celebrity. He was the dog patiently waiting to take a photo with the hotdog in his mouth! The video went viral and Dash suddenly had a voice, and an audience of thousands, so his human Ande, had to figure what he should “speak” about. And since he’s a good dog, Ande the owner was determined that his message should be a good one. And here they are doing good for patients with blood cancer.

He has created TEAM DASH and has a fundraising goal of $100,000 by October 2019. He's been involved with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training program for 14 years. And it’s personal for him as well! He lost his father to renal cell cancer 8 years ago and his uncle was recently diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. He has used Team In Training to channel his grief into something positive by continuing to fundraise, volunteer, mentor, and coach…

That’s Whats Good Ande and Dash!
