Jenna What's Good?!
A Philadelphia man is being praised for his attempt to save his mother from apartment fire. Jermaine jumped into action after receiving a call from his sister that their mother's high-rise building was on fire. Since the police had the residence blocked off, the 35-year-old roofer and contractor grabbed a pair of wire cutters and began climbing up the fenced-in balconies.
He explained “my mother is sick, she's bed-ridden. There's no limits. That's my mother." After scaling 15 stories to reach his mom’s floor, his mom let him know that she was okay and that the fire was contained. He then climbed right back down.
What’s more special about this story is that earlier that day, Jermaine had fallen and cracked his hip on a set of stairs. So his heroic effort was fueled by love AND adrenaline. “When your…mom is up there [and] you think she's dying - you'd do anything you can,” Jermaine explained. Thankfully his mom and many of the residents safely escaped.
