Local Couple Stranded On Norway Cruise Ship

A Seattle couple was aboard the Viking Sky cruise ship that became stranded off the western coast of Norway. 

Rolando Lamarca took these photos when the ship’s engines failed in the middle of some bad weather. 

Roland told KOMO news, “We were finishing lunch and all of a sudden it became eerily quiet… And just like that everything started flying... all engines failed. No control. We were at the mercy of the waves and the wind”

More than 900 other passengers were on board and everybody has been safely airlifted off the ship as sting winds pushed the vessel dangerously close to underwater rocks about 300 feet away...

One of the photos is of the auditorium where all the passengers had to assemble… Final picture was on board the helicopter during the air rescue...
