Lil Wayne is speaking out after he didn't win any Grammy Awards this year.
The seasoned rapper took to X on Monday, February 2, to share his thoughts about the annual awards show. Wayne made a comeback last year with his album Tha Carter VI. The project holds collaborations with BigXthaPlug, 2 Chainz, Bono, Jelly Roll, Big Sean, Kodak Black, and more. Despite its commercial success, Lil Wayne's 14th album wasn't recognized by the Recording Academy. Wayne was nominated for Best Rap Song thanks to his verse on Tyler, the Creator's "Sticky," but both artists lost to Kendrick Lamar, Mustard and Lefty Gunplay.
"Congrats to the nominees and winners," Wayne began. "Wasnt included. As usual. I gotta work harder. As usual. One time for my slime Bill Beli."
Wayne mentioned Bill Belichick, who was also snubbed after he didn't receive enough votes to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. For what it's worth, Lil Wayne has won five Grammy Awards and has been nominated 28 times since 2006. After being nominated for his stand-out features, Weezy finally earned his own nominations and won several awards in 2008, including Best Rap Album for Tha Carter III and Best Rap Song for "Lollipop." He won again in 2018 with Chance the Rapper after their song "No Problem" won Best Rap Performance.
Fans were divided after Lil Wayne expressed his thoughts about the Grammys. Some people cited the quality of his recent album, while others defended his status as the greatest rapper of all time. Better luck next year, Weezy.
