Trae Tha Truth is a godsend. The seasoned rapper has been doing everything he can to help an elderly woman who was arrested for failing to pay a trash bill just before Christmas.
According to a report TMZ published on Monday, March 27, the Houston native helped Martha Menefield of Alabama turn the house she was arrested at into her dream home. Trae donated thousands of dollars to renovate the inside of her home. The rapper teamed up with local store BEL Furniture to provide $15,000 worth of upgrades to her living room, dining room and bedroom.
Menefield also received various new items including "a full couch with multiple recliners, a queen bed and new dressers." Trae Tha Truth told the outlet that he first bonded with the 82-year-old after "the absurdity of the crime" started their friendship. Video of Menefield's arrest went viral last year after she was apprehended from her home after failing to pay a trash bill worth $77.80. Trae got in contact with her and started to spend a lot of time at her property. She said she still doesn't understand why Trae took an interest in her case, but she's grateful either way.
Trae's work at her home isn't done yet. The rapper and his team are currently working on how to get central heat and AC installed into her house. He's also working on repairing the foundation of her home to prevent flooding, and finding her reliable transportation.
Trae The Truth is known for his charitable acts in and outside of his home state. Last year, his team reported that they helped rescue over 300 people following the devastation of Hurricane Ian in West Florida. He also attended the funeral of one of the young victims of the Uvalde shooting.
