POWER 93.3's Year in Music: Our Top 25 Songs

2017: the year of HUGE albums, HUGE tours, and just some really great music. To round out 2017, we've calculated the Top 25 Songs of 2017 on POWER 93.3!

25. Now Or Never - Halsey

"I didn't pay too much attention to Halsey until her album hopeless fountain kingdom came out in June of this year. All of the songs were so relatable and high energy, so I was stoked when Now Or Never became a POWER record! Seeing her at the Key in November made me love her even more!"

-Kat

24. Don't Wanna Know - Maroon 5 feat. Kendrick Lamar

Maroon 5 has been teaming up with hip hop artists to make smash hits. With Kendrick's #1 DAMN. album dropping this year, it was the perfect storm for this song to top the charts.

23. Slow Hands - Niall Horan

"2017 was also the year that each former member of One Direction went in their own directions, and I must say I have been LOVING it! Niall has really found his stride and killing it as a solo artist, with the release of his album Flicker, and cool collabs with Maren Morris and more. You can't help but love this song!"

22. 1-800-273-8255 - Logic feat. Alessia Cara, Khalid

"Arguably one of the most important songs of the year. Titled with the phone number for the suicide prevention hotline, Logic speaks on mental illness and depression, and gives a voice to people who sometimes don't have one. I interviewed him this past July when he came through town on his 'Everbody's Tour,' and he is one of the most friendly and down-to-earth artists that I have had the opportunity to talk with."

-Kat

21. Bad Things - Machine Gun Kelly with Camila Cabello

One of Camila Cabello's first solo collabs since leaving Fifth Harmony, she didn't disappoint and proved she could make it without the other 5H girls.

20. Starboy - The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk

The Weeknd crosses over to mainstream after putting out his popiest album to date in late 2016. After landing the #1 spot with Starboy,  he sold out the Key in April and was a tabloid regular while dating (and breaking up with) Selena Gomez.

19. I'm The One - DJ Khaled feat. Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance The Rapper, and Lil Wayne

"DJ Khaled owned big time music collabs in 2017, and I couldn't stop listening to this! Feature after feature, DJ Khaled proves he has tons of friends in the music biz and knows how to make a hit. From the hook sang by Justin Bieber, to Lil Wayne making waves back on the radio, this was the perfect song for Summer 2017."

18. Let Me Love You - DJ Snake feat. Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber killed the feature game this year, being a part of numerous songs with DJs and more. We know you belted out this song in the car at least once, or 100 times.

17. Strip That Down - Liam Payne feat. Quavo

Liam's first song since going solo was a banger, and teaming up with Quavo of Migos made it that much better! We can't wait to see what Liam has for us up next!

16. Side to Side - Ariana Grande feat. Nicki Minaj

"Ahead of the heartbreaking terror attack at Ariana Grande's show in Manchester, she performed an amazing show in Seattle for the Dangerous Woman Tour in March, and I loved it! Ariana then put together one of the most meaningful music events of the year, One Love Manchester, a benefit show with tons of artists and all proceeds going to the victims and families of the Manchester terror attack. Big ups to Ari in 2017!"

15. Closer - The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey

"While this was released in 2016, The Chainsmoker's biggest hit continues to be a staple in my playlists, and on POWER! Drew and Halsey's vocals combined with one of the most memorable drops ever are only a few of the reasons why I will always love this song."

-Kara

14. Believer - Imagine Dragons

Imagine Dragons were incredible successful crossing over onto the pop charts with their song Believer. They are the only rock act who had two singles make the top 10 in the pop charts this year!

13. It Ain't Me - Kygo with Selena Gomez

This pair's first collaboration together climbed to the top 10 of the pop charts, making It Ain't Me Kygo's first top ten hit, and Selena Gomez's 7th! The song quickly gained over half of a million streams, and was a banger in the club all summer long.

12. Paris - The Chainsmokers

The Chainsmokers perfectly craft another duet to follow Closer this year, teaming up with Emily Warren on their single Paris that dropped early this year. The lyrics are incredibly relatable and the duo has continued their success by doing what they want with their music.

11. I Don't Wanna Live Forever - ZAYN and Taylor Swift

ZAYN teamed up with Taylor Swift for this track, which also became the theme for the movie Fifty Shades Darker. This was the first we have heard from Taylor since 2014, so to say Swifties were excited was an understatement.

10. Starving - Hailee Steinfeld and Grey feat. Zedd

Another song from 2016 that POWER 93.3 can't let go of, Starving is just that good! Zedd knows how to make a catchy beat, and Hailee's lyrics are a perfect match with it. What a hit!

9.  Something Just Like This - The Chainsmokers feat. Coldplay

In one of the most unexpected collaborations of the year, The Chainsmokers teamed up with Coldplay to put out an unstoppable song, Something Just Like This. The Chainsmokers reigned supreme in 2017, and this song was one of the top streamed dance tracks of the year.

8. Issues - Julia Michaels

"Long time songwriter Julia Michaels found her place in singing this year with her breakout single Issues, and I couldn't be more excited for her future success as a singer/songwriter! She's written tons of songs for Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and more, so you've been hearing her songs for years already. She's just getting warmed up with her own music."

-Kara

7. Despacito - Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber

Arguably one of the most massive hits of the year, Luis Fonsi put together this remix to his song Despacito with Daddy Yankee and the addition of Justin Bieber in just TWO DAYS! Bieber heard the original song at a club in South America, loved it, and then before you knew it, Fonsi had sent someone down to record the remix with Bieber and BAM. Despacito Remix was born. What a song for this year!

6. Stay - Zedd and Alessia Cara

"Alessia Cara was already a great singer, we knew that. But her vocals are taken to the next level combined with Zedd and his incredible production talents. I fell in love with Stay during the song's first 15 seconds. I can't get enough of her vocals and his beats!"

-Kara

5. There's Nothing Holding Me Back - Shawn Mendes

Shawn Mendes showed off his edgy side with this single off of his album, Illuminate, and we are still so into it. There's Nothing Holding Me Back is more aggressive than past songs Mendes has put out, and gave fans a taste of what's coming up next from him!

4. Attention - Charlie Puth

Charlie Puth announced the release of his second album Voice Notes this year, and dropped a few tracks to get us ready for it. He toured with Shawn Mendes, and plans to set out on his own headling tour next year. Attention is fun and groovy, and we can't get enough of Charlie and his vocals!

3. Say You Won't Let Go - James Arthur

British X Factor Winner James Arthur put this song out over a year ago, but it took off this year after a lot of patience and hard work. Arthur is thankful that his "simple love song" caught on in the US. It certainly stuck here in Seattle, being the #3 song on POWER 93.3!

2. That's What I Like - Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars never fails to make music that is retro and brand new at the same time. His album 24K Magic brought funk vibes to music this year, and a killer tour stop at the Tacoma Dome this summer!

1. Shape Of  You - Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran takes the #1 Spot on POWER 93.3 with his comeback single 'Shape of You,' which kicked off an insanely successful album and tour, both titled divide. Whether you are 5 or 65, you bopped to this song.

What a year! Thanks for reading and listening, and we can't wait to see what 2018 brings in music!
