Route 91 Harvest Festival performer Maren Morris released a song titled Dear Hate today, following the mass shooting at this weekend's festival in Las Vegas. Morris wrote the song a few years back and recorded last year with Vince Gill. The singer/songwriter posted on Instagram that she was never sure when she should release this song, but now it has become unfortunately relevant. Morris plans to donate all money made from the song to Music City Cares Fund benefitting victims from last night's attack.
Check out Maren Morris's statement and listen to the song below:
I wrote this song 3 years ago, recorded it last year with Vince Gill, and always have fans asking when I'll put it out. I never knew when would be the right time, but I realized today that there's never a right time. Hate is everywhere, and I'm sick of not doing enough. In the darkest tunnel, there is still love & music. That's what it's here for. Here is Dear Hate. Any cent I see from this I'm donating to the Music City Cares Fund.
